Presentation Partner Organisations

On this page, you will meet our partner organizations and learn about their motivation for being part of this project. Each organization will introduce themselves by answering two questions:

bits4kids

Tell us in a few words who you are or what your organization does?
  • bits4kids OG is a small company based in Graz who offers programming and robotics courses for children and young people between the ages of 7 and 15. Our courses take place in schools in the morning classes and in the afternoon care. During holiday periods we organize programming and robotics holiday courses combined with outdoor sports and games. We are also happy to organize company courses for the children of employees. No prior knowledge is necessary for our courses.

What is the motivation of being part of the project “creative coding”?
  • bits4kids is motivated to promote the project creative coding to inspire and empower children to learn coding and develop their creative skills. By introducing coding at an early age, they hope to equip children with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in a technology-driven world and develop their passion for problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation.

BRG Kepler

Tell us in a few words who you are or what your organization does?
  • The BRG Kepler in Graz (Austria) is a secondary school and it has always its focus on computer science and robotics.Since the school year 2022/23, the Keplergymnasium has been offering one hour per week of coding & robotics in addition to the subject of digital education. Here, the students have the opportunity to work in small groups, solve computer based problems, write codes, make it-projects and so they finally achieve computational thinking.

What is the motivation of being part of the project “creative coding”?
  • bits4kids is a reliable and strong partner which supports and guides us during the course of the project. The project enables our students to intensify their coding skills and have the opportunity to
combine design, coding and embroidery with the help of project-oriented teaching.

Vilniaus Trakų Vokės gimnazija

Tell us in a few words who you are or what your organization does?
  • Vilniaus Trakų Vokės gimnazija  is a high-school (gimnazium), which gives children secondary education. We teach all subjects. Our students have the subject technology for two hours per week and computer science for one hour per week. Also, we teach students about micro:bit programming after school. We teach children ages 7 to 18. Our school gives students secondary-level education.
What is the motivation of being part of the project “creative coding”?
  • This project involves 4 subjects: computer science, mathematics, technology and art. Children are learning better and more creatively when they are using computers.

Het Fluoriet

Tell us in a few words who you are or what your organization does?
  • Het Fluoriet is a one-woman company who wants to support the (educational) offer for computational thinking in various ways. For example, by supporting teachers based on what is already available in the school and in line with what is already being worked on within the school. Het Fluoriet mostly offers computational thinking and coding workshops and lessons for children people aged 4 to 12 but sometimes also for teachers and librarians. Het Fluoriet also offers STEAM workshops. Mostly we are active in schools but also in libraries and sometimes, during holidays, in day care.

What is the motivation of being part of the project “creative coding”?
  • Being part of the “Creative Coding” project offers the opportunity to learn with colleagues from abroad more about coding, to learn how coding is being tought in other countries and to learn how to apply coding in a creative way.  Hopefully, when testing the developed lessons in eg. a school, I can motivate teachers and cultural organizations in the Netherlands to also get started with creative coding.
